Wilberforce Public School has been established for over a hundred and twenty one years and occupies facilities that are five years old. The school aims for its students to: be responsible citizens with caring, understanding social skills; have high self-esteem, both as learners and as people; be self-directed, lifelong learners, who value education; have competent skills in literacy, communication, numeracy, research and technology; be creative and critical problem solvers; be able to work independently and co-operatively; be appreciative of all cultures and uniqueness of others and of languages, art and music; and be able to make informed health and lifestyle decisions.
Our school also strives to ensure that our students take pride in themselves and their school as a whole, by singing our school song in the school assemblies that are held. Below is a copy of the Wilberforce Public School, school song.
In the shadow of the proud Blue Mountains,
by the Hawkesbury River's roaming course,
on the green and fertile flood plains,
lies our school at Wilberforce.
From the dreams of Governor Maquarie,
our noble school was given birth,
and through a long proud history,
she has always proved her worth.
(Chorus)
Herald Wilberforce Public School,
pupils and staff all give their best,
may our creed become a life long rule,
and forever may we strive for success.
In our studies we work with pride and effort,
creativity and sporting skills excel,
peer support spreads care and friendship,
Wilberforce does all things well.
When the time comes for our leaving,
in our hearts fond memories will spread,
for we know that we'll be ready,
for the challenginges ahead.
(Chorus)
Herald Wilberforce Public School,
pupils and staff all give their best,
may our creed become a life long rule,
and forever may we strive for success.
